Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about MV Tools and its features.

What is MV Tools?

MV Tools is a comprehensive file management solution that allows you to manage, transfer, sync, and backup files across multiple cloud storage services and local drives. It supports a wide range of storage providers including Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and many others.

How do I set up a new drive connection?

To set up a new drive connection, open MV Tools and click on the "Add Drive" button. Select the type of drive you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions. For cloud storage services, you'll typically need to authorize MV Tools to access your account. For FTP/SFTP/WebDAV connections, you'll need to provide the server details and authentication information.

Is MV Tools secure?

Yes, MV Tools takes security seriously. All communication with cloud storage services is encrypted using HTTPS. For local connections like FTP/SFTP, we recommend using secure protocols (SFTP instead of FTP) whenever possible. MV Tools runs on your computer, so all file transfers do not go through our servers. MV Tools stores your credentials securely and does not share your data with any third parties.

What are the system requirements for MV Tools?

MV Tools is currently only compatible with Windows operating systems. The system requirements are:

- Windows: Windows 10 or later - At least 4GB of RAM - At least 200MB of free disk space

How does the Pro version differ from the free version?

MV Tools is currently in development, and we are working on introducing Pro features in the future. Currently, all versions of MV Tools are free to use and do not contain any advertisements.

Can I use MV Tools to transfer files between different cloud storage services?

Yes, one of the main features of MV Tools is the ability to transfer files directly between different cloud storage services without downloading them to your local computer first. This makes it easy to move files between services like Google Drive and Dropbox, or to backup files from one service to another.

What should I do if I encounter an error while using MV Tools?

If you encounter an error while using MV Tools, first check our troubleshooting guide in the help menu. If the issue persists, you can:

- Check for updates (we frequently release bug fixes) - Contact our support team via email at [email protected]

When reporting an issue, please include as much detail as possible, including the exact error message, steps to reproduce the problem, and your operating system version.

Is there a paid version of MV Tools?

Currently, MV Tools is completely free to use. We are working on developing a paid system with additional features, but it is not yet available. There is no subscription system in place at this time.

Does MV Tools support offline access to files?

Currently, MV Tools does not support offline access to files. You need an active internet connection to access files stored in cloud storage services.

What file sizes can I transfer with MV Tools?

MV Tools itself doesn't impose any file size limits, but the storage services you're using may have their own limits. For example, many cloud storage services have maximum file size limits for uploads (typically between 1GB and 5TB depending on the service). When transferring files between services, you'll be subject to the limits of both the source and destination services.
